Scholarship: Debra W Hampton Schp

Information: The Debra W. Hampton Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by Jeff Milton Hampton of Dallas, Texas and the Dick Wearden family of Victoria, Texas in loving memory of their wife, daughter and sister. Debra Hampton earned a B.A. degree with a major in journalism and a M.I.J. degree from Baylor University in 1981 and 1982 respectively. Among her professional accomplishments, Ms. Hampton received the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors first-place award for headline writing in 1993 and a Dallas Press Club Katie Award in 1994 for a special newspaper section titled “NAFTA: Texas Builds its Future.” Jeff Hampton earned a B.A. degree with a major in journalism from Baylor in 1981. He is a member and deacon at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas.

Criteria:  For graduate International Journalism majors in the Journalism/Publc Rel/New Media department.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.
