Scholarship: J Dixon Field Asst Award Schp

Information: The James W. Dixon Undergraduate Field Assistant Award was established in 2005 through the estate of the late Dr. James W. Dixon. Dr. Dixon received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1934 and a Master of Arts degree in 1935. He later obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1955. He served as Professor of Geology at Baylor and Chair of the Department from 1941-1977. This award provides the recipient the opportunity to conduct fieldwork.

Comments: Awarded to undergraduate students to assist graduate students with field research.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Geology or Earth Science majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on merit.
