Scholarship: W Dial Black, Jr Scholarship

Information: The W. Dial Black, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund was established through a gift to Baylor University from the W. Dial Black Family Trust in memory of W. Dial Black, Jr., brother of Sadie Jo Black of Waco, Texas.

W. Dial (Dub) Black, Jr. was born in 1924. He received a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1946 and went on to complete graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin's School of Banking. He was a member of Baylor University's Development Council and was also a founding trustee of Houston Baptist University.

Sadie Jo Black graduated from Baylor University in 1950 and was an assistant professor at Baylor in the family and consumer sciences department. She retired in 1992 after completing 35 years at Baylor.

This endowed scholarship fund provides assistance to deserving and outstanding students who are enrolled in the Hankamer School of Business.

Comments: Recipient must demonstrate success in business classes, leadership and willingness to work on of off campus.

Criteria:  For students in the School of Business who are a sophomore or junior.

Minimum GPA: 3.00

Need/Merit: Based on merit.
