Scholarship: John Mack Ousley Scholarship

Information: The John Mack Ousley Endowed Scholarship Fund for Vocal Performing Arts was established in 2008 by Robert Wayne Ousley of New York City, New York in memory of his brother, John Mack Ousley.

John Mack Ousley, renowned opera singer, was the son of the late Dr. J.W. Ousley, Baylor University professor and Baptist minister, and Mrs. Erkalene Ousley, acclaimed Texas music teacher. John Mack graduated from Baylor University in 1967 with a major in voice. He later earned a master's degree at the famed Julliard School. With a lifetime of credits, Mr. Ousley was a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, the American Symphony, and the American Ballet Theatre. He also appeared in numerous Broadway productions and was a recording artist in classical as well as pop music.
