Scholarship: Danny/Marsha Bowlin Educ Schp

Information: The Danny R. and Marsha L. Bowlin Endowed Scholarship Fund in Education was established in 2008 by Danny R. and Marsha L. Bowlin of Dallas, Texas.

Danny Bowlin received a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1969 where he was a member of Sigma Tau Epsilon fraternity. He recently retired as the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hunt Petroleum Corporation where he worked for more than 23 years. Marsha Bowlin received a B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1970 where she was a member of the Alpha Omega club, now Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Danny and Marsha are members of the Baylor Bear Foundation, Old Main Society, and the Endowed Scholarship society. In addition, the Bowlins are active members of the First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas. They have two children: Sarah Bowlin Fifer and Mark E. Bowling.

This endowed scholarship fund assists deserving undergraduate students who are enrolled in the School of Education and are preparing for a career in teaching.

Comments: Awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and are preparing for a career in teaching at the elementary or secondary level.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Education.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
