Scholarship: Madalene Cain Social Work Schp

Information: The Madalene Cain Endowed Scholarship Fund in Social Work was established in 2008 by the Madalene Cain Charitable Foundation of San Antonio, Texas.

Madalene Cain left home at 16 with only the clothes on her back and one dollar. She went to San Antonio to make a living and a home. After acquiring training in numerous business ventures, Madalene Cain became the first female stockbroker in San Antonio. She passed away in February 2007 at the age of 92.

Madalene attributed her success, in part, to kind charitable acts and wanted to do what she could to help others. The Madalene Cain Charitable Foundation believes establishing a scholarship in social work at an institution such as Baylor University will further Madalene's goals.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Social Work majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
