Scholarship: James & Lisa Meyerhoff Schp

Information: The James C. and Lisa Hayes Meyerhoff Endowed Scholarship Fund in Geology was established in 2009 by James C. and Lisa Hayes Meyerhoff of Houston, Texas. James Meyerhoff majored in geology as a graduate student and reflects upon his time at Baylor as a life-changing experience. He and his wife, Lisa, desire to support the Department of Geology by providing financial assistance to their best students.

James Meyerhoff received a B.S. degree in mathematics and an M.S. degree in geology from Baylor University in 1978 and 1983, respectively. He is current a partner and exploration manager for Krescent Energy Partners, LLC in Houston. He has served on the board of advisors for the Geology Department at Baylor and is now an ex officio member of that committee.

Lisa Meyerhoff received B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from Baylor University in 1978 and 1983, respectively. In addition, she received a J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law in 1990. Lisa is the managing partner of the Houston office of Baker and McKenzie, LLP, where she practices intellectual property law. She is a member of the Baylor University Women’s Association of Houston.

James and Lisa Myerhoff are life members of the Baylor Alumni Association. They are active members of Tallowood Baptist Church where they both enjoying singing in the adult choir. Jim also teaches Adult Sunday School and serves on two church committees.

This endowed scholarship fund assists deserving students who are pursuing a major in geology.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Geology majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
