Scholarship: Jack & Julie Redding, Jr Schp

Information: The Jack W. Redding, Jr. and Juli A. Redding Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in2009 by Jack and Jan Redding of Fort Worth, Texas in honor of their children, Jack W. Redding, Jr. and Juli Redding Harrison.

Jack Redding, Jr. was born November 27, 1954 in Cleburne, Texas; he passed away on April 28, 2004 at the age of 49. He received a B.S.Ed. degree from Baylor University in 1978. While at Baylor, Jack served as an athletic training for the football team and was a member and president of Taurus fraternity, now known as Beta Theta Pi. Jack was a partner with his father in the family business, Kimbell Oil, for 20 years. He was an avid golfer, scuba diver and skier, but his great love was the breeding, raising, and racing of thoroughbred horses.

Juli Redding Harrison was born August 10, 1958 in Cleburne, Texas; she passed away on February 14, 2002 at the age of 43. She attended Texas Wesleyan University and was a great fan of Baylor, especially the football program. Juli worked nine years at First National Bank before joining her father and brother in the family company. She was a member of Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

Jack and Jan Redding established this scholarship hoping in some small way to fill the void of the children's untimely passing and to memorialize their love for Jack, Jr. and Juli. Additionally, they desire to help future students have the opportunity to attend Baylor University.
