Scholarship: Thomas & Gretchen Lynch Schp

Information: The Thomas P. and Gretchen C. Lynch Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by the Thomas P. and Gretchen C. Lynch Family Foundation of Jacksonville, Florida.

Thomas Lynch grew up in Monticello, Georgia and Gretchen Lynch grew up in Houston, Texas. Tom and Gretchen met as freshmen at Baylor University and dated all four years of college. They married after graduation in June 1989; Tom earned a B.A. degree and Gretchen received a B.S.Ed. degree. After marrying, Tom and Gretchen spent two years volunteering for the U. S. Peace Corps in Belize, Central America.

Tom and Gretchen are life members of the Baylor Alumni Association and have a strong family history with the university: Tom's father and sister as well as Gretchen’s great-grandmother all attended Baylor.

This endowed scholarship assists deserving students enrolled in the School of Education.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Education.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
