Scholarship: Herbert Markwardt Scholarship

Information: The Herbert W. Markwardt Endowed Scholarship Fund in Entrepreneurship was established in 2010 by Michael A. Markwardt of Fort Worth, Texas in honor of his father, Herbert Markwardt.

Michael Markwardt earned a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1981. After graduating, he worked at his father's business, Encon Industries, and soon transformed the small family business into the world's second largest supplier of ceiling fans. Michael is currently the president of Legare Furniture in Fort Worth, Texas, focusing on the global sourcing and distribution.

This endowed scholarship assists deserving students who are enrolled in the Hankamer School of Business and majoring in entrepreneurship.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Entrepreneurship majors in the School of Business.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
