Scholarship: Brian Family Scholarship

Information: The Brian Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in Mathematics was established in 2011 by W.H., Jr. and Carol Cotter Brian of Amarillo, Texas. Bill Brian earned a B.A. degree and a J.D. degree in 1974 from Baylor University. In 1975 he earned a L.L.M. degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law. Mr. Brian serves as partner with Courtney, Countiss, Brian and Bailey, L.L.P. in Amarillo. He served on the Baylor University Board of Regents from 1998 through 2007. He is a past member and chair of the board of advisor for the George W. Truett Theological Seminary and has served as chairman of the Panhandle Baylor Major Gifts Task Force. Carol Brian earned a B.A. degree in mathematics from Baylor University in 1973. She serves as the executive assistant to the pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She is a member of the Baylor University Women’s Council of Amarillo and is past president of the Junior League of Amarillo.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Mathematics majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and/or merit.
