Scholarship: Hugh Sanders Music Schp

Information: The Hugh Sanders Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund in Choral Music was established in 2011 in honor of Hugh Sanders by Charles Fuller of Little Rock, Arkansas, former members of Hugh Sanders’ choirs and friends of Hugh Sanders.
Dr. Hugh Sanders earned a B.M.Ed. degree in 1957 and a M.M. degree in 1959, both from Baylor University. He earned a D.M.A. degree in 1970 from the University of Colorado. Dr. Sanders was one the first to be named the Ben H. Williams Professor of Music and held the positions of choral music director and director of church music at Baylor University. He also served on the board of directors and was a life member of the Baylor Alumni Association. Dr. Sanders passed away on August 21, 2011, survived by his wife, Rinky Sanders, two children (Stan Sanders and Stacie Hendrickson) and four grandchildren.
Charles Fuller earned a B.M.Ed. degree cum laude from Baylor University in 1979, a M.M. degree from West Texas State University in 1981, a D.M.A. degree from Arizona State University in 1989, and a M.Div. degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary in 2010.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Music.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.
