Scholarship: Dr Judy Wright Lott Schp

Information: The Dr. Judy Wright Lot Endowed Scholarship Fund in Nursing was established in 2011 by Louise Herrington Ornelas of Tyler, Texas in honor of Dr. Judy Wright Lott for the love and service she gave during her nine year tenure as dean of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Dean Judy Wright Lott earned a B.S.N. degree in 1975 from Valdosta State University, an M.S.N. degree in 1985 from Troy State University and a D.N.S. degree in 1992 from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Dean Lott was inducted as a fellow into the American Academy of Nursing 2003, was named a 2006 Woman of Distinction by the Baylor University Women’s Council of Dallas, and was honored in 2010 as one of the 60 visionary leaders in nursing and healthcare by her alma mater, the UAB School of Nursing.

Comments: Preference is given to students enrolled in the neonatal nurse practitioner grad program.

Criteria:  For graduate students in the School of Nursing.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
