Scholarship: Carpenter Family Scholarship

Information: The Carpenter Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in Education was established in 2012 by Don P. and Janette Carpenter of Spring, Texas. Don Carpenter earned a B.B.A. degree from Baylor University in 1981 and an M.S. degree from the University of Houston. While at Baylor, Don was a member of Beta Alpha Psi. He is currently serving as the chief accounting officer of Waste Management Incorporated in Houston, Texas. Don and his wife, Janette, have two children: Evan P. Carpenter (B.S. in education in 2012) and Paige E. Carpenter (B.S. in education in 2011 and M.S. in education in 2012).

Comments: Preference to students preparing for a career in teaching (elementary or secondary)

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Education.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and merit.
