Scholarship: Park E Pearson Scholarship

Information: The Park E. Pearson Endowed Scholarship Fund in Accounting was established in 2012 by family, friends and colleagues of Park E. Pearson, in his memory.

Park E. Pearson received his BBA degree from Baylor University and joined KPMG’s San Antonio office in 1969 where he worked for 35 years serving publicly and privately held clients in the manufacturing, energy and high tech industries.

As a founding member of Thousand Oaks Christian Church, Park served as Treasurer, Elder and member of the board. Mr. Pearson played the guitar and harmonica in the Church band. He also served on the accounting advisory council for Baylor University and St. Mary’s University, as well as the business advisory council for University of Incarnate Word. Serving as the Treasurer for his friend, Congressman Henry Bonilla, was a noted and proud experience for Park.

Park Pearson earned his wings while serving in the United States Army National Guard as a paratrooper. He was an avid golfer, hunter and musician. Park and his wife of 34 years, Nancy Ann, have three children. Park Blakeley Pearson, B.B.A.’03 and his wife, Candace Glass Pearson, B.B.A.‘03, Hillary Pearson Murff, B.B.A.’04 and her husband Aaron Murff, B.B.A.‘04 and Edward Graham Pearson, B.B.A.’10.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Accounting majors.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need.
