Scholarship: Ray Hankins Wilkerson Schp

Information: The Ray Hankins Wilkerson Endowed Scholarship Fund in Business was established in 2012 by John and Ruth Wilkerson of Lubbock, Texas, in memory of their son, Ray Hankins Wilkerson.

Ray Hankins Wilkerson earned the B.B.A. degree in finance from Baylor University in 1986 and was named the Outstanding Baylor Student in Real Estate by the Hankamer School of Business. An ardent Baylor supporter, Ray was a member of the Endowed Scholarship Society, a life member of the Baylor Alumni Association, and a faithful and generous financial supporter of the George W. Truett Theological Seminary. In December of 2009, Ray was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive and incurable brain cancer. He died October 28, 2010.

Ray’s parents, John and Ruth Wilkerson graduated from Baylor University in 1957 earning the B.B.A. degree and B.A. degree, respectively. Mr. Wilkerson is chairman of the board of Wilkerson Storage Co. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkerson are active in civic, church and community activities.

Comments: Selection of recipients takes into consideration personal character, Christian commitment and service to others.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Baylor Business Fellows (preferred) majors in the School of Business.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.
