Scholarship: Mark/Patty Lovvorn Nursing Sch

Information: The Mark and Patty Lovvorn Endowed Scholarship Fund in Nursing was established in 2014 by Mark and Patty Lovvorn of Dallas, Texas.
Mark Lovvorn earned B.B.A. and B.Acc. degrees from Baylor University in 1976 and 1977 respectively. He is chairman and CEO of Providence Bancshares and chairman of Provide Bank of Texas and is principal founder of both institutions. He also serves as a member of the Board of Regents at Baylor University. Patty Lovvorn earned a B.S. degree in education from Baylor University in 1977 and was a yell leader while there. Mark and Patty are active in the youth and decision counseling ministries at First Baptist Dallas. They are blessed with four children: Ben (Baylor J.D. ’07), Jason (B.B.A. ’10), Tricia (Baylor B.A. ‘10) and Justin (future Baylor Bear).

Comments: This fund is used to assist students who view their future careers in nursing as a form of Christian ministry.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Nursing.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on merit.
