Scholarship: Clark FastBacc Scholarship

Information: The Harris and Anne Clark Compassion Scholarship Fund for FastBacc Success was established in 2015 by Harris W. Clark of Dallas, Texas.

Harris W. Clark earned a B.B.A. degree from Oglethorpe University. Anne L. Clark graduated from Texas Tech University. The Clarks have two sons. Mr. Clark serves as a Trustee for the Deerbrook Charitable Trust.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark saw an immediate need for nurses like those who graduate from the FastBacc program at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing. Students who participate in the FastBacc program have earned their bachelor's degree in another field and are now pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing (B.S.N.) degree. These are students who change their career path in order to make a difference for society by becoming a nurse. Mr. Clark and the Deerbrook Charitable Trust were instrumental in creating the FastBacc program. The Deerbrook Charitable Trust provided grant funds as well as enabled the launch of the FastBacc program designed to address the nation's nursing shortage making it possible for more students to obtain their nursing degree. Mr. and Mrs. Clark realize how difficult it is for these students to obtain the financial assistance to enter into the program. The Clarks are passionate about helping these students receive a quality nursing education in a Christian environment so they may go into the world to make a difference in the lives of those they serve through their new career.
