Scholarship: Mark & Courtney Toon Schp

Information: The Mark and Courtney Toon Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 by Courtney L. and Mark P. Toon of Houston, Texas.

Mark Toon is an accomplished business leader who earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Baylor University, where he was a member of the football team, a leader in university government and an active member of the business school. He has spent the majority of his career starting and building companies, such as SourceNet, World 50 and, most recently, EquaTerra, which was sold to KPMG. Mark is now chief executive officer of KPMG Capital.

Courtney Toon, a native of New Orleans, attended Texas Christian University before transferring to Texas A&M University to complete her bachelor's degree. Courtney is an active volunteer in the Houston community, and she is very involved in the academic and sporting activities of their two boys, Hudson and Canon Toon, who attend Second Baptist School.

Mark and Courtney are members of the Baylor Bear Foundation.

Comments: Awarded to U.S. citizens with consideration to their extracurricular activities and leadership, including involvement in sports during high school and/or college, missions, church, internships, work experience, societies and other leadership outside of the classroom.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate Entrepreneurship majors in the School of Business from Texas or Louisiana.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on merit.
