Scholarship: Marilyn Souchek Scholarship

Information: The Marilyn McLerran Souchek Endowed Scholarship Fund for International Programs was established in 2015 by Marilyn Souchek of Encinitas, California.

Marilyn McLerran Souchek earned a B.A. degree in sociology and psychology from Baylor University in 1968, and went on to earn a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Southern California. Marilyn taught sociology at Palomar Community College for over 30 years. Over the course of her career, she traveled around the globe to many different countries. It is her desire, through this scholarship fund, to continue to help international students achieve a social work education.

Comments: Preference to GML participants

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Social Work.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and/or merit.
