Scholarship: William W Robinson Scholarship

Information: The William W. Robinson Endowed Scholarship Fund in Social Work was established in 2016 by William W. Robinson of Dallas, Texas.

William W. Robinson grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and graduated from Northwestern State University. After graduation, he entered Baylor College of Dentistry and earned a D.D.S. degree in 1961. After a short time in the U.S. Army as a general dentist, he completed orthodontic training at St. Louis University in 1966 and began his practice of orthodontics in Sherman, Texas, where he raised his family and lived for over 40 years. Dr. Robinson has two children: W. Scott Robinson (B.B.A. '83) and Angela Robinson Vanderlinden.

Dr. Robinson was a respected orthodontist in the North Texas area for over 35 years and was known for high quality care and his skills as a dental professional. He relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2014 to receive assisted living care and to live closer to his son. It was during his move to an assisted living home that he was touched in a positive way by a social worker who was instrumental in helping him and his family with the transition. Dr. Robinson continues to receive care from professionals with social work training. Dr. Robinson was an excellent student, a life-long learner in his field and greatly values graduate level education.
