Scholarship: Shannon Casteel Scholarship

Information: The Shannon Casteel Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund in Engineering and Computer Science was established in 2012 by Beth and Mitchell S. Casteel of Bellaire, Texas in memory of Shannon Casteel.

Shannon Casteel was the brother of Mitchell S. Casteel. He passed away at the age of 18 after battling Muscular Dystrophy.

Beth Casteel earned her B.A. in computer information systems and B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University in 1986 and 1987, respectively. While attending Baylor, Beth was a student athlete and was a member of the women's volleyball team. She has over 30 years of experience in a variety of finance and controllership roles with ExxonMobil. She is currently assistant treasurer for ExxonMobil Corp. She is also a member of the School of Engineering and Computer Science Board of Advocates and Letterwinner's Association.

Beth is married to Mitchell S. Casteel and they have two children: Caitlin and Carter. Caitlin received her B.B.A. and M.Acc degrees from Baylor University in May 2017. Carter is a member of the Baylor University Class of 2019.

Criteria:  For Undergraduate students in the School of Engineering & Com Sc.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.

Need/Merit: Based on need and/or merit.
